Timeline:
1958 Baron Football: On the first play in Baron Football history, Bill McNatt scored on a 65 yard run. 

1959 Baron football finished 2-3-1.  Allen Montgomery (#31, pictured below with 1960 team) was named All State.  Captains were Guy Camuso and Larry Rutledge. 
1960 Baron Football finished 3-7, upset Baldwin County 26-0, and defeated Forsyth County and Newton County.

1961 Baron Football finished 3-7, with a 33 point win over Forsyth County and shutouts over Druid Hills and Clarkston. Larry Rutledge (#70), Guy Camuso (#12) and Horace Goza (#81, pictured below with 1962 team) were Greater Atlanta All-Stars. Captains were Skip Evans, Guy Camuso and Jim Pender. Fred Chance was Most Outstanding Back. Jim Pender was Most Outstanding Lineman. Larry Rutledge was Most Valuable Player. 


Adams Stadium was completed. The DeKalb New Era reported, "The Briarcliff Barons fulfilled their part of the opening ceremonies of the new Adams Memorial Stadium last Friday night with a 13-0 victory over Druid Hills. Even though the night was cold the 8,000 capacity mark was almost reached as fans crowded into the new stands."  Henry Faucette and Freddy Chance of BHS scored the first two touchdowns at Adams Stadium. 
1962 Baron Football finished 1-8-1, upsetting 7-4-1 Decatur (5th in state).
1963 Baron Football finished 4-5-1, upsetting Tucker (2nd in state) and Decatur (5th in state), defeating Southwest DeKalb and Cross Keys, and tying Clarkston (7-2-1). They featured the #5 defense in BHS history (157 points in 10 games), with one shutout. Captains were Scott Miller and David McDonald.
1964 Baron Football finished 4-3-3. They featured the #3 defense in BHS history (130 points in 10 games), shutout 3 teams, upset 5-3-2 Gordon, defeated Russell by 27 points, and defeated Gainesville and Tucker. Mike Hannon (#11), Ken Harpe (#67), Phil Houston (#64) and Bob Stokes (#12) were All State. Bob Stokes led the nation in punting, was named Prep Punter of the Year by Sports Illustrated, and earned an athletic scholarship (University of Miami). Andy Guy was Most Valuable Offensive Back, Phil Houston was Most Valuable Offensive Lineman, Terry Warren was Most Valuable Defensive Lineman, Mike Hannon was Most Valuable Defensive Back, Ken Harpe won the Hustle Award and Terry Covington won the Coaches Award.


1965 Baron Football finished 5-4-1 (best in BHS history). They fielded the #1 defense in BHS history (120 points in 10 games), the #3 offense in BHS history (158 points in 10 games), shutout three teams, tied Druid Hills (9th in state), defeated Gordon by 41 points, and defeated Campbell Smyrna, Gainesville, Russell and Cross Keys.
1966 Baron Football finished 4-6, upsetting Druid Hills by 20 points, after which The Atlanta Journal ranked BHS #10 in state. They fielded the #1 offense in BHS history (198 points and 3,154 yards in 10 games), upset 6-3-1 Chamblee, defeated Dykes by 42 points, defeated Cross Keys, and recorded one shutout. Larry Graham (#15) and Bill Peake (#80) were All State and earned football scholarships (both to East Tennessee State University).

1967 Baron Football finished 4-6, upset 5-5 Southwest DeKalb 31-0, fielded the #5 offense in BHS history, defeated Cross Keys by 30 points, and defeated Athens and Dykes. Players earning football scholarships were All State Randy Campbell (#68, Georgia Tech), Rick Corliss (Livingston State University), Mike Roberts (East Tennessee State University), and John Shikany (East Carolina University).
1968 Baron Football finished 1-9 and upset Tucker (3rd in the state). Players earning football scholarships were George Hirsch (#75, East Carolina University) and Steve Brown (#21, East Carolina University).

1969 Baron Football finished 1-9, defeating Cross Keys. Players earning football scholarships were All State John Dlubac (#86, University of South Carolina) and Bruce Popp (#65, above with 1968 team, East Carolina University).
1970 Baron Football finished 2-7-1, defeating Habersham Central and Druid Hills. Players earning football scholarships were Tim Martin (#23) University of Pennsylvania) and Gary Jaynes (#54, above with 1969 team, Georgia Tech).
1971 Baron Football finished 5-5, shutout 4 teams (most in BHS history), defeated Cross Keys by 50 points (highest margin in BHS history), fielded the #2 offense in BHS history, the #4 defense in BHS history, defeated Tucker by 23 points, and defeated Habersham Central, Druid Hills and Sequoyah. Elliot Price (#30) was All-State First Team and earned a football scholarship (Georgia Tech).

1972 Baron Football finished 2-8, shutting out Cross Keys and Druid Hills. Players earning football scholarships were Richard Kaufman (#43, University of Alabama), Pat Lombardi (#7, University of North Carolina) and John Noonan (Western Carolina University).

1973 Baron football finished 1-9, defeating Cross Keys.
1974 Baron Football finished 2-8, defeating Cross Keys and Sequoyah. Ken Joel earned a college football scholarship (University of Pennsylvania).
1975 Baron Football finished 4-6, fielded the #5 defense in BHS history, shut out two opponents, defeated Cross Keys by 21 points, and defeated Johnson, Peachtree and Sequoyah.
1976 Baron Football finished 3-7, defeating Tucker, Chamblee and Johnson.
1977 Baron Football finished 0-10. 
1978 Baron Football finished 3-7, defeating Druid Hills, Sequoyah and Walker with one shut out.
1979 Baron Football finished 2-8, upset 6-4 Walker, and defeated Gordon. 

1980 Baron Football finished 1-9 and defeated Sequoyah.
1981 Baron Football finished 0-10.

1982 Baron Football finished 1-9, shutting out Hapeville.
1983 Baron Football finished 5-4-1 (tied for best in BHS history). They fielded the #2 defense in BHS history, shut out 3 teams, fielded the #4 offense in BHS history, defeated Dawson County by 35 points, upset 9-3 Campbell Fairburn by 22 points, defeated Sequoyah by 21 points, and defeated Cedar Grove. The DeKalb News Sun reported that BHS had "the skill players to throw together one of the most exciting offenses Briarcliff has seen in years ... depth at running back ... quality receivers ... solid offensive linemen ... surprising Briarcliff [is] not be be taken lightly by anyone." The News Sun selected BHS as "Team of the Week," as BHS started 3-0-1. In the win over Ridgeview that clinched the winning season, linebacker Andy Chandler earned the "DeKalb News Sun Defensive Player of the Week" award. Other players called out for valuable performances during the season by the Sun were Mike Arogeti, Keith Dawson, Brian Galloway, Harold Franco, John Hayes, Richard Hughes, Darrell Landy, Sammy Padgett, Chris Paschal, Xavier Reynolds, Robert Smith, Johnny Swift, Reggie Tucker and Theron Wynn. Coach Ron Young was named DeKalb County Coach of the Year.

1984 Baron Football finished 4-4-1, upset 5-4-1 Sequoyah, defeated Decatur by 35 points, defeated Cedar Grove and Cross Keys.  Reginald Tucker earned a football scholarship (Albany State University). 
1985 Baron Football finished 4-6, defeated Decatur by 28 points, and defeated Cedar Grove, Cross Keys and Decatur (a second time).


1986 Baron Football finished 2-8, defeated Druid Hills 10-9 in the final game before their merger, and defeated Cross Keys 17-6 for the final win in BHS history.
