Sam Black was the first Baron Football coach and the first Baron Wrestling coach. He won seven consecutive wrestling state championships.

Ray Hambrick was the first Baron Basketball coach. His 1965-1966 team won the most games and had the highest winning percentage of any Baron Basketball team.
